We Create Space: I See You, I See Me

We Create Space is a non-profit organisation who exist to support all LGBTQ+ people in reaching their full potential. They offer a number of self-empowerment programmes which are delivered by a collective of LGBTQ+ mentors, coaches and well-being professionals. Their focus is on equipping queer people with the tools to make positive change in their own lives and their community.

On Saturday 17th April We Create Space are hosting a workshop exploring what it is to be a queer man in 2021. It will invite participants to look at their own relationship with sex, masculinity and self-image through interactive exercises, discussion and mindfulness. A safe space for the LGBTQ+ community, the facilitators will introduce new tools for bringing about more awareness, compassion and intimacy when engaging with oneself and others.

Some of the questions that will be asked during the workshop include;

  • What expectations do men put on themselves?

  • What are the societal structures and pressures that surround masculinity, and how can we combat the challenges that we face?

  • For those wanting to create change in their daily lives, organisations, and communities, how can we create more space for vulnerability, intimacy and self-love?

In the lead up to I See You, I See Me, workshop facilitator Jani Toivola spoke with other prominent voices across the We Create Space collective about how maleness has presented itself to them and what can be done to diversify traditional definitions of masculinity. You can watch this conversation unfold above. And if you wish to attend I See You, I See Me then you can sign up for FREE here. Below you will also find the individuals who will be guiding you through the workshop, creating space for us all to grow.
