Curated Gallery
The core creative dialogue on the website is a curated space, with artworks selected by Club Founder/Director Ben Driver to showcase an ever expansive narrative on masculinity and mental health. He is always on the look out for imaginative, expressive, unconventional and honest creations, often using social media to find and reach out to artists. If you would like to be considered for inclusion in this curated gallery feel free to email Ben on hello@guycryclub.com.
Thrive Exhibition
As part of the Suffolk Pride Fringe, Led Creatives, Guy Cry Club CIC and Liminal Gaze Collective are holding an art Exhibition at The Hold. Submissions are open to the LGBTQIA+ community to submit their work under the theme of “THRIVE”.
This theme intends to reflect on what it means for the LGBTQIA+ community to thrive. To thrive as a queer person could be to experience gender euphoria, engage in activism, find a chosen family, and practice radical self-love. It could also mean finding community, dreaming of a bright and wonderful queer utopia, or looking back into the past at queer historical figures, maybe even creating magical fantasy worlds. To thrive is to be our authentic selves and to live audaciously, it can also mean to thrive in spite of adversity. You may choose to relish in queer joy, but you may also choose to reflect and create art as a catharsis. All experiences are welcome, if you are happily nurturing queer joy or struggling to keep it, we want to hear from you.
If your art is selected it will exhibit for a week at The Hold, Mon 17th – Sun 23rd July. With a launch event Thursday 20th July, 7:30 - 9:30 pm
Submit your work to ed.ngai@ledcreatives.com
Deadline: 5th July 2023
