Ben does Movember

Director of Guy Cry Club, Ben is taking part in Movember this year raising money for projects and organisations that support men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Movember has been going since 2003 and to date has funded over 1,250 men’s health projects globally. Ben’s decision to take part is focussed on bringing about awareness and support for mental health projects including suicide prevention. Motivated by his own various interactions with suicide and an awareness of the gaps in mental health support it’s important that more and more connections are created to shape a kinder and more accessible future. Funding is of course a necessary part of this and by being an individual in a community of mo-growers he hopes to help fundraise much needed money for life changing projects. Head to his Mo Page here to donate and to see how that mo grows.

“Men’s health is in crisis. Men are dying on average 6 years earlier than women, and for largely preventable reasons.

Unchecked, prostate cancer rates will double over the next 15 years. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among men aged 15-39 years of age. And across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 75% of all suicides.

Movember is uniquely placed to address this crisis on a global scale. We fund groundbreaking projects all over the world, engaging men where they are to understand what works best and accelerate change.”
