Emmaus Suffolk: New Hub to Tackle Men’s Mental Health

Emmaus Suffolk’s new ‘Breakfast Bap Hub’ is a space for men to hang out, meet new people and play board games. All attendees can also enjoy a free breakfast bap from our Royal Oak kitchen!

The hub, which is free to attend, will be a relaxed environment where visitors can get stuck in with a game of cards, challenge each other to chess or simply have a chat over breakfast.

It supports men to make new connections and friends in their community while providing an environment for them to talk about any mental health issues they may be facing. Men’s mental health often goes unchecked, with 40% of men saying they’ve never spoken to anyone about their mental health, Emmaus hopes that this hub will give them the space to speak out about any worries or struggles they are having and improve their well-being through meaningful connection.

The Breakfast Bap Hub is being funded by NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board who work in close partnership with local government, healthcare, community and voluntary organisations and residents to provide and buy healthcare plans for communities in Suffolk and North East Essex.

In addition, to this new hub we will also be extending our hubs at Sailmakers Shopping Centre and our workshop will now be open on Fridays from 10 am – 12.30 pm. All our hubs work to reduce loneliness and support vulnerable, socially isolated people.

The Breakfast Bap Hub kicks off on Saturday 1st July at The Royal Oak and will run every Saturday from 10am–12pm. Visitors can turn up on the day, no need to book.
