You Can’t Ignore Me by Erika Lopez
“This painting was made to demonstrate the shadow self. Many times in our past we have endured some sort of trauma and it is reflected in our present life. I chose to paint an eye to represent awakening and healing from traumas. The yellow figure represents rebirth and the skeleton figure represents bringing the darkness to light.”
Erika Lopez is a young artist aiming to portray the commonly concealed emotions and experiences we collectively go through as human beings. The vibrancy and life of her work has two main perspectives to it; to break down unhealthy standards and beliefs held by society and to send out a message of love, progress and hope.
